Seminar Week October 2012

For one week we will learn the basics of 3D animation during daytime and project the outcome of our exercises in the evening - here at Hönggerberg onto the facade of the Bistro. Have a look at our latest projections at "Stadtfest Baden" and at those shown last December here at Hönggerberg.

For one week we will learn the basics of 3D animation during daytime and project the outcome of our exercises at the bistro facade here at Hönggerberg in the evening. Therefore we will start at 11 a.m. and finish at around 9 p.m. In order to learn about the basic modelling capabilities of Blender we will start at 9 a.m. on Monday.

Get inspired by the results of an seminar week of the Technical University of Istanbul and by the results of a few thesis electives from Information Architecture last December. We will try to combine video mappings with 3D illusions as they are created in form of paintings since the Renaissance (pictures below).

Projection Mapping and Spacial Illusions

At christmas 2010 and 2011 students of ETH used projections to illuminate the piazza at ETH Zurich Campus Hönggerberg.
With spacial illusions it is important to know that the illusion usually works only for one view point. Due to our shifted camera method and Blender's "driver" feature (simplified python scripts) we are now able to animate the view point as well.
