Dr Ihab Hijazi

Dr. Hijazi is a postdoc scholar at the chair of information architecture. He has more than 13 years of experience as a GIS expert. He worked as an Assistant Professor of Geographic Information System at Urban Planning Engineering Department, An-Najah National University in Palestine. He also has worked as teaching assistant at the center for urban and regional planning, An-Najah National University. Dr Hijazi was a researcher at the Environmental System Research Institute (ESRI) – the world leader in GIS and the Institute for Geoinformatic and Remote Sensing (IGF) at the University of Osnabrueck in Germany. He authored more than 17 papers and prepared several studies. He has obtained many international awards such as: ESRI International Internship Program (11/2010-2/2011 and 7/2005/1/2006), Redlands, California, Best paper award 5th 3D GeoInfo 2010 Technical university of Berlin TuBerlin, Germany, COST action TU0801 “Semantic enrichment of 3D city models for sustainable development”, DAAD (04/2008-02/2012), Presidential Scholarship for Master studies in the USA. He has extensive experience in the use and application of computer programs in the field of Architecture and Urban Planning. He holds a B.Sc and a Diploma in Architecture and Urban Planning,  M.Sc and PhD in Geoinformatics from the University of Redlands, Ca, USA and the University of Osnabrueck in Germany.
